Outside 'interference’: SBCA directed to furnish proof
SBCA had filed a petition through its director, who had named the provincial chiefs of NAB, FIA and ACE as respondents
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed on Tuesday the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to produce material relating to 'interference' by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) into its affairs. Headed by Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh, the division bench gave the direction while hearing SBCA's petition against alleged harassment and interference by the federal investigating agencies into its affairs. SBCA had filed a petition through its director, who had named the provincial chiefs of NAB, FIA and ACE as respondents. During Tuesday's proceedings, SBCA legal adviser Shahid Jamiluddin requested for time to submit material to support his contentions relating to meddling by NAB, FIA and ACE into SBCA affairs and harassment of officials. The bench allowed time to do the same and adjourned the hearing for a date to be later notified by the office.
