Compensation For Martyrs: Sindh Police gives out Rs0.5b to heirs

The Sindh Police department gave out Rs0.5 billion as compensation among families of martyred policemen in the last one year, said Sindh IG Ghulam Hyder Jamali on Thursday when he was distributing compensation cheques among the families at Garden Police Headquarters. With an increase in salaries, the morale of Sindh Police has been enhanced, he said, adding that efforts are underway to provide international trainings to policemen at Razzakabad training centre. The police held 3,286 encounters, arrested 12,235 criminals and killed 753 criminals across Sindh last year, he pointed out, adding that tracing the terrorists involved in the Safoora bus attack was one of the major breakthroughs for the department.
