Fifth Death Anniversary: Pir Abdul Qadir’s urs celebrations

Fazal was thrice elected as the MNA and presently he is a member of Sindh Assembly

SUKKUR: The fifth death anniversary of former federal minister and pir of Ranipur Dargah Pir Abdul Qadir Shah Jillani will be observed today in Ranipur. According to the notification issued by the district administration, all the educational institutions throughout Khairpur district will remain closed today. Many devotees from across Sindh are expected to participate in the urs celebrations. Abdul Qadir was also elected as Member of National Assembly (MNA) seven times. He was said to be a supporter of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Parliamentarian and a close aide of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. After Abdul Qadir’s death, his son Pir Fazal Ali Shah Jillani was named the disciple of the dargah. Fazal was thrice elected as the MNA and presently he is a member of Sindh Assembly.
