‘Will launch campaign for new province’
He said the movement for Bahawalpur’s restoration should be made central to the political agenda
BAHAWALPUR:
“The demand for a Bahawalpur province is not new. If rulers are concerned about welfare of the people of south Punjab, they must know that they cannot achieve their goals without giving people of this region a say in how they are governed,” Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani said on Saturday.
He was addressing a meeting. He said the movement for Bahawalpur’s restoration should be made central to the political agenda. “This is a noble cause. Those who want to jump on the bandwagon for their selfish interests are not welcome,” he said. He said he was organising a campaign on this issue. “We will set up offices in three districts of Bahawalpur Division.”
