Citing law and order: Candidate withdraws from Kech polls

Voters cannot cast their votes freely in such a situation amid fear in the constituency

QUETTA: An independent candidate of PB-50 Kech III Advocate Shabir Ahmad Rind, on Tuesday has announced his decision to boycott the Election as a result of an “inappropriate situation”. While talking to reporters, he said peaceful environment is the most important thing for the conduct of election and the law and order situation in PB-50 Kech III has recently deteriorated. Voters cannot cast their votes freely in such a situation amid fear in the constituency. He said people are leaving their area for fear adding that “I do not want to put my people in trouble and appeal to other candidates to not put their voters at risk and instead select a candidate unanimously”.
