RAWALPINDI:

The mutilated body of a real-estate broker was found in an under-construction building in Saddar Bairuni area here on Monday morning.

The victim was identified as Muhammad Adnan son of Muhammad Riasat, former chairperson of Girja Union Council.

Adnan, who was running a real-estate agency with his brothers on Girja Road, stayed back on Sunday night, while his brothers left for home at around 8:30pm on Sunday.

The victim’s family initially assumed that he might be staying with his friends.

Next morning, Adnan’s family members got worried and tried to contact him on his mobile phone, but found it switched off.

The family, besides reporting the matter to the police, started searching for Adnan.

On Monday morning, Muhammad Nasir, Adnan’s brother, while searching for his brother ended up at an under-construction building behind the real-estate office and found his brother lying in a pool of blood.

Later, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Mirza Arif also reached the spot, collected the body and shifted it to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.

DSP Saddar Circle Sajid Gondal, when contacted said that initial investigation revealed that Adnan was hit with a blunt object multiple times as his face was disfigured.

Adnan’s family lodged a complaint with the police, however, the DSP said that a case would be registered after they had received the postmortem report.
