New Year Celebrations: 4,100 police officials to provide security
The department will ensure that no incidents of aerial firing occur in the metropolis
KARACHI:
Around 4,100 police officials will be deployed on special duty for the maintenance of law and order during New Year’s celebrations, said the police. The Sindh police department is making extraordinary security arrangements across the province, particularly in Karachi for the week. Efforts to avert terrorism will be equally complimented by measures to prevent rowdy behaviour, claimed the police, adding that similar measures have been adopted in previous years too. According to officials, the department will ensure that no incidents of aerial firing occur in the metropolis or any behaviour that may disturb citizens. The police said that special arrangements are also under way for foolproof security at different recreational sites, especially the seashores.
