RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench on Thursday has given city managers one month to clear roads and markets of encroachments. LHC Justice Ibadur Rehman Lodhi directed the district coordination officer (DCO) and executive officers of Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonment boards to clear all encroachments in their areas and file a complete report in the court on January 14. DCO Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar Daal argued that the city administration did not have enough policemen available to launch anti-encroachment operations. To this, Justice Lodhi directed the city police officer (CPO) to provide the required force to the DCO for removal of all encroachments.
