Makers of the film remained tight-lipped about their latest venture for good reason -- having only shared a teaser image of Sonam's look in the film, previously. And it was worth it.
Sonam Kapoor shares her look from Neerja Bhanot biopic
The two-and-a-half minute clip gives us a short but terrifying glimpse of the fateful night of 5th Sept 1986 when Pan Am Flight 73 was hijacked by terrorists upon landing in Karachi.
Snippets show the nerve-racking true incident while also touching upon the life of the young Mumbai-based flight attendant Neerja Bhanot played by Sonam Kapoor. The recently released trailer can only be described as spine-chilling.
The film also stars veteran actress Shabana Azmi playing the role of Neerja's mother Rama Bhanot, and Shekhar Ravjiani, playing Prem Bhanot, the flight attendant's boyfriend.
Soon after its release, the trailer became the top Twitter trend in India. The Bollywood fraternity was all praise for the actress and her film:
