Third edition: Four new disciplines added to Karachi Beach Games

The Karachi Beach Games, organised by the Karachi City Sports Association (KCSA), will introduce four new disciplines, including women’s boxing, beach hockey, para sports and sailing, in its third edition which will begin on December 25.


According to KCSA secretary Khalid Rehmani, more than 1,000 athletes will feature in 27 disciplines — 15 male and 12 female — in the two-day multi-sport event.


Meanwhile, the KCSA will also hold sailing competitions in collaboration with the Pakistan Sailing Federation, while beach hockey and boxing will provide a platform for athletes to showcase their talents.


Rehmani also informed that the para sports would include both the disabled and the special athletes in this edition.


The total cost of the games is likely to exceed Rs1 million.
