The second coming: Salman Butt wants to win over fans
Former Pakistan skipper is thankful to the PCB and Wapda for giving him a chance to resume domestic cricket

Former Pakistan captain and one of the three players found guilty of spot fixing scandal in 2010, Salman Butt said that he will do whatever he can to win back the hearts of the Pakistani fans.
“I will do my utmost to once again win the hearts of Pakistan fans,” said Salman Butt, while talking PakPassion.net. “I will try and convince them that despite all that has happened in the past, I still have good character.”
The left-handed batsman completed his five-year ban in September and believes he is still good enough to play at the top level.

“I'm fit, and have been able to keep my fitness going over these five years,” said Salman. “I hope and pray that I can help my domestic side Wapda win competitions.”

Salman, who represented Pakistan in 33 Tests, thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as well as Wapda for giving him the chance to play the game for which he has great passion.
“I am glad and relieved to have reached this stage and am thankful for this second chance,” said Salman. “I'm very thankful to Wapda for backing me and giving me the opportunity to perform."
The 31-year-old is understandably rearing to go. “I cannot thank the PCB enough, and I am now looking forward to next year when I can once again start playing the game I love,” he said.
