Custom officials had challenged court’s decision to handover the passport to her.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court issued a notice on Thursday to supermodel Ayyan Ali in connection with custom authorities’ petition seeking the court’s intervention to get back possession of her passport.

The custom officials challenged Rawalpindi court’s decision to handover the supermodel’s passport back to her.

Justice Athar Minallah issued notice to Ayyan for December 16.

In the petition, the custom counsel argued that Ayyan was arrested on the spot while travelling abroad with foreign currency amounting to US$506,800 and had no lawful excuse at that time.

The counsel said that Ayyan did not require a passport as her name is now in the ‘Exit Control List’ maintained by the government of Pakistan and she cannot leave the country.
