Global threat: ‘ISIS expanding its tentacles to Afghanistan’

The moot started at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML)

ISLAMABAD:

“After the success of operation Zarb-e-Azb one should believe that the armed forces of Pakistan have the ability to root out any militant group from its soil,” said Air Vice-Marshal (retd) Shahzad Chaudhry. He expressed these views at a two-day international conference on Tuesday, titled “Emergence of ISIS in the Middle-East and its implications for South Asia”. Chaudhry said ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) has become a global threat, adding that the so-called state’s presence has spread from the Middle-East towards vulnerable states like Afghanistan. The moot started at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), and was jointly organised by the International Relations Department of the varsity and the Higher Education Commission.
