New delimitation: Murree village boycotts elections in protest

Residents also held a demonstration on Saturday

Over 500 voters of a village in Murree completely boycotted the polling process on Saturday in protest against the new delimitation. Residents of Khajoot village in union council Nambal said the village had been included in a UC far from the area in the new delimitation. Former member provincial assembly for the area Shafqat Abbasi advocate said not a single vote was cast from the village. Total registered voters in the village are 550. He said the Lahore High Court had also nullified the new delimitation. Residents also held a demonstration on Saturday.
