LG polls: Around 17,000 police personnel to perform duty

The police said that display of weapons and aerial firing were banned during and after the elections on December 5

The Rawalpindi police have said that around 17, 000 security personnel would be deployed on security duty on the occasion of local government (LG) polls scheduled for Saturday (tomorrow) in the district. The police in a press release said that army and Rangers would also be present in the district as a back-up on the election-day. In total, 1,763 polling stations have been set up by the district election commission across the district. The police said that the training would help in enforcing the election rules and regulations. The police said that display of weapons and aerial firing were banned during and after the elections on December 5.
