A self-proclaimed saint and a married woman were gunned down in a remote village in Torghar district, police said on Wednesday. Some women from the area advised her to visit a local pir, Sultan Zar, 51, for spiritual treatment. Family sources said the woman started visiting the pir’s house regularly and this resulted in the two of them establishing relations. Bibi’s husband reportedly forbade her from visiting Sultan Zar’s home but she continued. On Tuesday afternoon, when Shams got back from the fields he found Bibi missing. When he reached the Pir’s house, he found her there and took her back home where she shot her dead.

He later proceeded to Sultan Zar’s house and killed him too before running from the village.
