ISLAMABAD:
A man killed his wife and son before committing suicide in Sector I-11/1 in the Sabzi Mandi area, the police said.
The police said that Syed Tahseen Shah, 50, who hailed from Jehlum, had killed his wife, Sumbal 45, and son Hassan, 18, with a 30-bore pistol at their house three days back before turning the trigger on himself.
The police said that the house was locked from inside, as, according to them, Shah may have locked up ahead of the crime.
Investigation Officer (IO) Zaheer Ahmed said the initial investigation suggested that Shah had been facing financial issues.
The officer said that before killing himself, Shah called up his brother.
According to the IO, Shah had a catering business, but was heavily in debt.
The police shifted the bodies to Pims for medico-legal formalities. The police said that bodies had not been handed over to heirs as no one from the family has approached them.
