COMSATS convocation: 25 PhDs among 729 graduates

The degrees were awarded to 489 BS, 215 MS and 25 PhD graduates

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Islamabad awarded 729 degrees in its 82nd convocation here on Tuesday.


The degrees were awarded to 489 BS, 215 MS and 25 PhD graduates in the disciplines of bioinformatics, biosciences, business administration, computer engineering, telecommunication engineering, electronics, mathematics and architecture.


Of 25 PhD degrees, 10 were awarded in mathematics, six in physics, five in biosciences, and one each in computer science, electrical engineering, management sciences and meteorology.


President Mamnoon Hussain, who was the chief guest at the convocation, congratulated the students and urged them to play their role in development of the country.


CIIT Rector Dr SM Junaid Zaidi presented said educational institutes were transforming society and helping the country face challenges of globalization. He said human resource development was vita for the country to progress.


Zaidi advised the graduating students to follow the principles of honesty, sincerity and truthfulness.
