Watchman Suspended: Wedding in school proves costly

CHARSADDA: A watchman was suspended for arranging a wedding function at a school in Shabqadar on Saturday. Insiders familiar with the matter told The Express Tribune District Education Officer Zehra Akhunzada suspended the watchman for arranging his daughter’s wedding ceremony at Girls Primary School in Khobai area. The watchman, who owns the land on which the school was established, was also accused of forcing the students and staff to abandon the school premises to arrange the function. When one of the teachers complained about the incident to the DEO, she took action against the watchman and suspended him.
