PESHAWAR: The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) should be made a part of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) province, said Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch on Sunday.

His remarks came at the National Party convention in Peshawar. Dr Malik Baloch was responding to the party members from Fata, who drew his attention to the problems faced by the people from the tribal belt.

They said that despite educational, political and social advancements, the people from Fata are still considered tribal and deprived of constitutional and legal rights. Dr Malik said that he has asked the federal government to include Fata in K-P.

Talking in depth about the achievements of the National Party government in Balochistan, Dr Malik said that the law and order situation has improved and soon a durable peace will be restored in this largest province of the country.

Dr Malik said that the resources of the province should be spent on the progress and development of the people of the province. “The country should the declared a social confederation where all the provinces have control over their own resources,” he said.

Central president of National Party Mir Hasil Bizenjo said that political forces can never be cowed down if politicians steer clear of corrupt practices. He asked all the political parties to make a commitment that they will end corruption among them.
