ISLAMABAD:

The marketing of Eden Life, a new housing scheme by Alhamra Pvt Ltd, has been termed misleading. The mandatory no objection certificate (NOC) for the scheme, announced in the Zone-5 of the federal capital, has not been secured yet from the Capital Development Authority.

According to the government sources, before completing all the necessary requirements, starting and marketing of any residential project on commercial basis is illegal. The necessary procedure and standards have not been met for Eden Life yet and thus the marketing of the project by the company is illegal.

Alhamra Pvt Ltd had got NOC for its project Alhamra Avenue. Later, the company applied for approval of changing the name of the project to Eden Life.

According to CDA, the application is still pending with the authority. According to government sources, the marketing of the Eden Life project before issuance of the NOC is tantamount to cheating and an illegal act as the application is still pending with the authority.

They also said that the marketing of the project Eden Life before issuance of the NOC is cheating and an illegal act.

Alhamra Pvt Ltd claims to be the sponsor of a residential project named Alhamra Avenue spanning over 1074.1 canals of land in the village Charrah in the federal capital and now is marketing a new project with the name of Eden Life.

The sources said that the biggest hurdle in the way of issuance of the NOC with the new name is a case filed by Shaheen Foundation of PAF which has filed applications in NAB saying that investment was done in the company for purchase of 700 plots and 7 farmhouses. The full payment has been done but the plots have not been handed over yet.

The Eden Life spokesperson said the company’s application for change of the name of the project in the CDA has not been approved yet. The company has deposited the required fee.
