Countering terrorism: Rangers detain two MQM suspects for 90 day

Documents submitted read LEA had credible information against suspects for alleged involvement in target killings

The Rangers informed an anti-terrorism court about the 90-day preventive detention of two suspects affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement.


The two suspects, Muhammad Ali and Waqar, were produced before the ATC-III judge, Saleem Raza Baloch, inside his chambers. The Rangers officials presented detention orders and jail warrants for the suspects before the judge and informed him that they were arrested on Monday in a targeted raid on Burnes Road.

The documents submitted to the court read that the paramilitary force had credible information against the suspects for their alleged involvement in target killings, extortion, and kidnapping.


Another suspect, Muhammad Abid, was also taken into custody after he was brought before the ATC-II. Abid was arrested from Samanabad area for his alleged involvement in target killings.
