Pakistan A concede unofficial ODI series

Lose second match to Sri Lanka A by seven runs

KARACHI: Pakistan A narrowly lost their second unofficial ODI against Sri Lanka A at Hambantota. The seven-run defeat means that the visitors squandered the three-match series, with the hosts attaining an unassailable 2-0 lead following a comfortable win in the opening match.

Batting first, the hosts were served well by ODI and T20 opener Kusal Perera, who followed up his unbeaten century in the opening game with a run-a-ball 110 as the Sri Lankan side posted 265-9 in 50 overs.

Pacers Tabish Khan and Ziaul Haq took three wickets each for Pakistan A.

In reply, the visitors lost the match by seven runs after failing to overhaul the 220-run target set via the Duckworth/Lewis method.

Khurram Manzoor scored 69, while captain Fawad Alam, who scored a half-century in the first game, chipped in with 65 in the lost cause.
