Fresh charge: Pindi gets new CPO

The newly-appointed CPO is likely to assume charge today (Monday).

RAWALPINDI: Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, a CSP officer of BPS-19 grade, has been appointed as the city police officer (CPO) of Rawalpindi. A notification in this regard was issued on Saturday, a police spokesperson said. The newly-appointed CPO is likely to assume charge today (Monday). Abbasi has also served as the Attock district police officer, senior superintendent of police (SSP) operations and superintendent of police (headquarters) Rawalpindi. Despite this appointment by the Punjab government, two posts of senior police officers are still lying vacant in the garrison city since the transfer of Akhtar Umer Hayat Lalika on February 11, 2015 from the office of the regional police officer and SSP (operations).
