SUKKUR: A private school teacher was killed by unidentified men within the limits of the A-Section police station in Ghotki on Monday morning.

Sources claim that Abdul Hafeez Qazi, 23, a resident of Khan Goth, was on his way to work at the alMehran Public School when the incident took place.

According to sources, Qazi was about 25 to 30 feet away from the school when unidentified men opened fire at him. The police suspects that they were hiding somewhere in the area and had been following him.

The body was taken Ghotki hospital for the autopsy and was handed over to the family later for the burial.

The police said that the reason behind the killing has yet to be ascertained.

While talking to The Express Tribune, A-Section police station SHO Saeed Bhayo said that he had been to the crime scene and the incident took place about 30 feet away from the school in a narrow lane.

The SHO claimed that the deceased's family had accused a man who has been taken into custody and was being interrogated. He said that it was too early to comment on who was responsible for killing Qazi.

He added that the police was waiting for Qazi's relatives to come to the police station after the burial so they could start the investigation on the information provided by them.
