Talks were expected to resume today but both sides decided to postpone them till tomorrow due to tight schedules

ISLAMABAD: The government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s negotiating teams will hold the fourth round of talks on Tuesday at 6pm.

The talks were expected to resume today but both sides decided to postpone them till tomorrow owing to their tight schedules.

The talks will be held at the residence of PTI General Secretary Jahangir Khan Tareen in Islamabad.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Planning and Reform Ahsan Iqbal will head the government’s team while PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar and Jehangir Tareen will represent PTI.

During their previous meeting in a fresh resumption of talks both parties decided to constitute a judicial commission through presidential ordinance. However, they still have reservations regarding the terms of references or a working plan for the judicial commission to probe rigging allegations in the May 2013 elections.

PTI’s core committee met yesterday while PML-N's leadership discussed the contentious issues and both sides hoped they would reach an agreement.

@Abid Shah Mashwani:

It is village idiots like you who have brought us to where we stand today. What is the harm of having dialogue at Tareen's house and how do you know he will force others to resign? The other PTI members are grown men, not stupid kids who will get swayed.

To get positive and speedy outcomes from the dialogue, both teams should use two members (Ishaq Dar, and Ahsan Iqbal from govt, and SMQ and Asad Umar from PTI), and dialogue should take place in a neutral venue instead of Mr. Tareen resident. Also when it comes to deciding about staying in assemblies or resigning, it should be decided by those core committee members who are elected MNA or MPA, not by losers (fair or unfair), as Mr. Tareen would rather want all MNA and MPA be out of assemblies since he is not elected.
