Qaim Ali Shah seeks transfer of proceedings of case against his election from PS-29 Khairpur

Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday issued notices to election authorities on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah’s petition seeking transfer of proceedings of a case – against his election from provincial assembly constituency PS-29 Khairpur – from election tribunal (ET) in Karachi to any other ET.


A division bench – headed by Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi – issued notices to the chief election commissioner, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) secretary and others to file their comments by December 23.

Advocate Farooq H Naek, who represented the petitioner, submitted that his client had filed an application under Section 58 of the Representation of Peoples Act 1976 before the ECP on December 10, requesting to transfer the election petition regarding PS-29 from the Election Tribunal Karachi.
