KARACHI: An election tribunal declared on Saturday Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz's (PML-N) Ghous Ali Shah successful in the NA-215 constituency in Khairpur during a hearing in Karachi, Express News reported.

Almost a year ago, the election tribunal had ordered the recounting of votes in this very constituency -- from which Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Nawab Wassan had earlier been declared the winner.

Shah, the former president of the Sindh chapter of the PML-N, had challenged the results and had expressed reservations over the voting pattern and subsequent counting of ballot papers.

After reviewing evidence and statements by witnesses, the election tribunal decided to recount votes cast on election day last year. The tribunal had also ordered the National Database and Registration Authority to verify the votes.

Every election excluding 1971 election, was rigged in some way or other. Agencies, political parties, Police and administrative staff have been involved in rigging. IK should focus on fixing the election system, not wasting time proving this election was fraud. Dear IK! Pls Focus on how to prevent it happening next time, how to get biometric system in place, how to stop agencies, Police and other election staff from interference and how to control political parties' arm wings who control election booths.
