At least four polio workers were shot dead on the outskirts of Quetta

QUETTA: Inspector General of Police in Balochistan Mohammad Almish has suspended acting DSP Shalkot Shafqat Ameer Janjua and SHO New Saryab Noor Baksh after the inquiry report was submitted regarding the targeted killings of four polio vaccinators in Quetta.

The two officers were suspended over their lax attitude as the tragic incident took place in their jurisdiction. “These two officers were responsible for the security lapse,” spokesperson Balochistan police told The Express Tribune. The inquiry report on the deadly attack was submitted to the IGP Balochistan on Thursday morning in which these two officers were held responsible.

At least four polio workers were shot dead on the outskirts of Quetta on Wednesday morning as they were on their way to start the vaccination campaign. The police have arrested 34 suspects during search operations in different areas of Quetta in connection with the attack.
