RAWALPINDI:

Punjab Emergency Service on Tuesday completed its 10 years service.

Rescue 1122 DG Rizwan Naseer congratulated rescuers for providing excellent services without discrimination. He said Rescue 1122 had helped 2.9 million victims in the last decade.

“Establishment of the service was a great challenge, especially when there were no trained emergency personnel or training institutions in Pakistan. Even emergency departments of teaching hospitals did not have trained emergency paramedics,” he said.

“This includes recruitment of staff; acquisition of land for rescue stations; acquisition of ambulances, vehicles; provision of toll-free number (1122) wireless frequencies and development of vehicles tracking and call monitoring systems for control room.”
