Reunited: Mother gets custody of children

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Friday handed two children in their mother’s custody after they were recovered from their father. Lubna Bibi, the petitioner, had said in her petition that she had been married to Muhammad Shahbaz for seven years before they separated. She said that they had two children, Asad and Adil, from the marriage. Bibi said that she had moved to her parents’ house after leaving her marital home. She said that Muhammad Shahbaz had refused to let the children accompany her despite familial pressure. The petitioner requested the court to direct the Sanda station house officer to produce them before the court. After hearing the arguments, the court handed them over to her on Friday.
