Power theft: Jaranwala, Chiniot are problem areas says FESCO chief

FESCO task force had been activated to conduct surprise visits to various localities and check electricity theft.

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Chief Executive Officer Rasheed Ahmad Aslam on Monday said the company was working on a strategy to curb power theft in the city.


Talking to The Express Tribune, he said anti-power theft camps had been set up across the FESCO region and task force had been activated to conduct surprise visits to various localities and check electricity theft.


The FESCO chief said a large number of power theft cases had been reported from Chiniot and Jaranwala. He said FESCO would launch the power theft campaign from these areas. He said First Circle Superintendent Mujahid Parvaiz Chattha had been directed to supervise the power theft camps at Chiniot and Jaranwala divisions.


Power theft camps would send daily progress reports, he added.
