Independence Day event: Singers present national songs at musical concert

A cake was also cut at the end of the ceremony.

A musical concert was held at Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) late Saturday night as part of the celebrations of the 68th Independence Day of Pakistan, said a press release of the council. 


The event was arranged by the RAC in collaboration with International Lions Club, Islamabad in which singers presented patriotic songs paying rich tribute to motherland.

Artists who performed included Syed Farhat Abbas, Sohail Shahzad, Sahar, Rizwana Khan, Husnain, Mohsin Pasha, Hania Shah, Quratul Ain, Hamid Shahzad, Saghir Khan, Umer Marwat and others presented national songs. A cake was also cut at the end of the ceremony.

While addressing the audience, Punjab Assembly member (MPA) Raheela Munawar said that struggle for development of the country is as important as was struggle for creation of Pakistan.

RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed announced that a drama titled ‘Pehchan Hamari Pakistan’ will be held on August 28 while a ‘Sufi Night’ programme featuring Babar Niazi and Javed Niazi will be held on August 30.
