Saeed Iqbal, another demonstrator, said that a transformer in Chak 420 had stopped functioning. He said Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) had failed to remedy the problem despite being sent numerous complaints. The protestors chanted slogans against the FESCO and demanded that power be restored immediately. The protest caused the closure of the road to traffic and impeded the movement of commuters.
