KHURRIANWALA:

A 29-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his in-laws over a love marriage and buried in a pit, police said on Saturday. A case has been registered and a search operation is under way to arrest the suspects.

According to the FIR lodged with Khurrianwala police by Zahraan Bibi, a resident of Fatehpur Sial in Larkana district, her son Dilbar Ali had married Rukhsana Bibi, daughter of Tarl alias Manthar, a resident of Chak 100-RB, about a year ago of his own choice.

The complainant stated that around one-and-a-half months ago, Rukhsana returned to her parents' home in Chak 102-RB following a dispute. Fifteen days ago, she alleged, Dilbar's father-in-law telephoned him and told him to come and take custody of his infant daughter, claiming they would not send their daughter back to him.

She said Dilbar Ali went to his in-laws' residence to bring back his child, where Tarl alias Manthar, Bashir, Abdul Jabbar and their accomplices, including a man identified as Mahmood Jatt, allegedly attacked him with sticks and bricks.

The suspects allegedly killed him and buried his body in a pit after digging a grave. The family, accompanied by relatives, searched the area indicated by the suspects and recovered Dilbar Ali's body from a pit. Khurrianwala SHO Inspector Riaz Athwal said the accused Tarl alias Muthar, after killing Dilbar, used the victim's mobile phone to inform his family that they had murdered Dilbar Ali and thrown away his body, asking them to come and collect it.

Upon receiving the call, the family arrived and recovered the body from a pit in the bushes.
