Pakistan striker Kaleemullah believes his stint with Kyrgyzstan’s FC Dordoi has proven successful and feels he has the potential to perform even more in the future.
Earlier this year, the 22-year-old from Chaman had transferred from KRL to FC Dordoi on a five-month contract to test the waters in another part of the continent.
The young striker said that even with KRL, his aim was to score goals and learn about the sport. He is one of the top scorers for FC Dordoi with 12 goals in 12 matches.
“I can say that I’m satisfied with this and the risk paid off,” Kaleemullah told The Express Tribune. “It’s the next successful level for me. So far, I’ve taken each match seriously. A striker is required to score, and that is my only focus.”
Kaleemullah said that playing abroad for FC Dordoi has been a great experience as the club trusted the striker more than he expected.
“It’s very competitive. FC Dordoi has expressed more interest in me ever since I have improved my game. I can say that they trust me, which speaks volumes,” said Kaleemullah, who has other offers from various clubs as well.
“I think I want to stay for a bit more – probably for two years, like [former KRL teammate] Mohammad Adil – but I don’t know at the moment. I have to think about my decision and all the factors that need to be considered as my contract is coming to an end.”
