Foreigners: Special desks set up to provide security to Chinese citizens

The desk will keep the police abreast of foreigners’ travel plans.

The CCPO’s office has said that all foreigners in the country, especially the Chinese, are on the terrorists’ hit list, providing security to them is of the utmost importance.

City police announced on Saturday that it has established eight special security desks around the city for Chinese citizens in Lahore.


The initiative has been taken to provide security to Chinese citizens employed in the government, semi-government and private sector as well as for tourists from China.

The CCPO’s office has said that all foreigners in the country, especially the Chinese, are on the terrorists’ hit list, providing security to them is of the utmost importance.

Lahore Operations DIG Rana Abdul Jabbar said apart from six desks at the divisional level, two more had been set up at the Wagha border and the airport. The desks have been directed to stay coordinated with private and semi-private companies where Chinese citizens are working. They will keep the city police abreast of the travelling and movement details of foreigners.

He said the security of Chinese citizens will be directly supervised by Security SP Ali Salman Khan.

The police have been directed to collect the data on all Chinese citizens working in Lahore, ensure deployment of personnel for their security and stay in contact with focal persons of all companies that employ Chinese citizens. The Lahore police have also written to the Chinese embassy to apprise the desk of the arrival of all Chinese tourists entering Lahore.

But how do we not know that the Police themselves will NOT try to start extorting money from Chinese nationals then as everybody in Pakistan knows the police like other corrupt officials demand bribes and kickbacks. They will just start asking for protection money from the Chinese then.
