Criminal activity: 4 people killed, 5 injured in separate incidents

KARACHI: Around four people, including a 13-year-old girl, were killed while five others were injured in unrelated incidents across the city on Wednesday.

A man identified as 45-year-old Shaukat Ali was shot dead by unidentified men near Liaquatabad post office within the limits of the Super Market police station. According to SHO Rizwan Patel, the deceased was a resident of Safoora Goth and was serving as a recovery officer at a dairy milk company. His attackers started chasing him on a motorcycle from Gulbahar after he had collected Rs150,000 from a shop owner.

The bullet-riddled body of a man identified as Imran, 35, was found in a stream under Teen Hatti Bridge on Wednesday. According to SHO Liaquatabad, he was tortured and shot dead by men who had kidnapped him the night before.

In Korangi No. 3, the five-day-old decomposed body of a 35-year-old man was found in a drain on Wednesday.

A 13-year-girl died after she fell down the stairs at home on Tuesday. The girl, a resident of Gulberg Block-5, was taken to a hospital nearby and then transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The police claim she was electrocuted and hit her head when she fell down the stairs which is what caused her death.

Muggings and extortion

Unidentified men shot and injured four men in separate incidents within the limits of Kharadar police station. According to police, the attackers shot and injured two brothers identified as Sadiq, 31, and 30-year-old Mohammad Arshad near Merry Weather Tower. They were taken to Civil Hospital where they are under treatment.

Two other brothers were injured in firing at Sarafa Bazaar on Tuesday by unidentified men on a motorcycle. They were also taken to the civil hospital. SHO Kharadar, Zafar Iqbal, suspects the brothers were attacked by extortionists who had been calling them to pay up.

Arrests

Sindh police claimed to have arrested 94 alleged criminals in over 102 raids and six encounters in the last 24 hours in different parts of the city. They seized 29 pistols, three hand grenades and drugs from alleged militants, extortionists and thieves.

Killings in Karachi go unnoticed, even by Media now! I wish our great grandfathers had never migrated to this country of feudals.
