The judgement has been reserved for the second time.

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) reserved its verdict on the bail application of Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Shahjehan Baloch in the Arshad Pappu murder case on Tuesday.

Headed by Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai, the bench reserved its verdict after hearing arguments from the prosecution and the defence lawyer. Earlier on December 23, 2013, a two-judge bench had heard Baloch’s bail plea but had also reserved order because one of its members declined to proceed with the matter.

The MNA is currently in prison and faces charges of abducting and murdering Arshad Pappu, his brother Yasir Arafat and their aide, Juma Shera, on March 16 in Karachi. He filed an appeal in the high court in November after an anti-terrorism court had declined his bail request.

Police have charged Shahjehan Baloch, Zubair Baloch, Zakir Dada, Abdul Rehman and Yousuf Baloch in the triple murder case before a special Anti-Terrorism Court.

Others accused absconding in the case include Pakistan Amn Committee Chief Uzair Jan Baloch, Habib Jan, Noor Mohammad alias Baba Ladla, his brother Zahid Ladla, Asif Kana, Faisal Pathan, Yasir Pathan and former SHOs of the Chakiwara and Kalakot police stations - Chand Khan Niazi and Javed Baloch. Kalakot police had registered an FIR of the triple murder case against them on the directives of the Supreme Court where Pappu’s widow had sought justice.

On Tuesday, the judges heard arguments from both sides and reserved their verdict, which will be announced later.
