Bullets, five Kalashnikovs, two pistols and two hand grenades were seized during the raid.
A car parked at Ladla’s residence was also seized by the police.
However, Noor Mohammad aka Baba Ladla managed to get away.
On September 16, Rangers’ personnel had apprehended three of Ladla's close aides during an operation in Karachi’s old areas.
According to a Rangers’ official, the earlier raids were carried out at the main hideouts of Lyari gang war elements on Lyari Maternity Road, Slaughter Yard Road and Dubai Chowk and at the hideouts of suspects, Jasim Golden, Baba Ladla and Ustad Taju in Lyari.

In other parts of the world, Ladla is someone sweet, innocent, beloved... However in Pakistan, with Kalashnikovs, pistols this term takes a new meaning
while one has to appreciate overall operation results, it still remains very fishy that every time rangers/police raid place of Ladla, Uzair Baloch etc, they manage to either escape or have already left the place when police/rangers reach the spot. Seems like operations is still not as objective and clean as govt wants people to think which means Karachi will again fall back in the grip of these hooligans once operations is concluded.
@Syed A. Mateen: The big shots in Lyari are safely hidden away under the auspices of the PPP. The raid is another feeble attempt to hoodwink the citizens that "We are serious." Unless we don't have education, employment, and law enforcement, these people will continue with their die hard ways. The question of a curfew is not taken seriously by any government because the opposition will clamor on their weakness and the army will say, "See we told you, we are better at state management."
