An explosion occurred near a petrol pump on Old College Road in Jacobabad when a bomb planted under a stationary vehicle went off on Tuesday night.
The car had been parked at the same spot for the last couple of months, according to reports. No casualty or injury was reported. Another live bomb of similar make was found on the spot and carefully shifted to the police station.
On Monday, a low-intensity blast had taken place at the iron market in the City police station limits, injuring 10-year-old Mohammad Hanif Shaikh, who was going through the garbage. The boy had found a small tin box, which went off when he tried to open it.
Talking about the explosion near the petrol pump, sub-inspector from the bomb disposal squad, Irshad Ahmed Soomro said, the locally-made bomb was made up of a six-inch-long plastic pipe. He said that the bomb which had exploded on Monday was a cracker aimed at sparking panic among the people.
