LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri on Sunday claimed that voting in the current corrupt system would be a sin and that his party will hold peaceful protests across the country on May 11, the day of the general elections, Express News reported.
The PAT plans to carry out a peaceful rally from Railway Station to Lakshmi Chowk in Lahore to protest against the present electoral system, which will not only be attended by party workers and citizens but also women, he added.
Qadri said that allowing fake degree holders, loan defaulters and tax evaders to participate in the elections is akin to making a mockery out of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
He further said that the present system is the greatest enemy of the country and its people and that the voters themselves will curse the system after the elections because it would allow plunderers, looters and bandits to make it to the assemblies.
Qadri is not against elections but wants a system that is based on a real democratic system, he added.

Totally agreed! It's a sin because everybody knows that the system is corrupt but still they are participating, in other word they are strengthening the corrupt system!
And just how much tax TUQ paid in Pakistan to enable him to correct the direction of the people. While at it he should also let everybody know what is his taxable income in Canada and what benefits (handouts) he receives from the Canadian Government?

Sometimes our intellectuals crossed the limits and thats what happened in this case, the word SIN is absolutely incorrect. Secondly if TUQ is sincere in his aim, why not protest now why on 11th May only when there will be no choice. The media is highlighting abuse of article 62 and 63 and the role of ROs who allowed such people to emerge again and many of them have already started showing their strength. On this issue we are very unfortunate nation. One thing more, to take any issues to the personal level is very sad and those particular people/group are describing by themselves that they are not mature. We all need to grow and walk alongwith the advanced nations in the world - we need to highlight bad elements but with positive thinking and advice - save our beloved country.
Tahir-ul-Qadri you better stay away from Pakistani politics and live in Canada and enjoy dual nationality because now the Pakistani nation is going towards the change and now the this time is of change........

How long 62,63 is in the constitution? was it ever followed before, if not then why now? why not no action on breaking/not following the costitution. Why Quadri Sahib or some one else go to court to Protest. Sugesting not to vote is a sin is a Question Mark. It is not a Solution.

That shows your poor level of research because on many tv channels its been exposed that he does not get any welfare funds from canada. He is there as a professor of Law and a leading religious scholar who has written 400 books from Canada and published them from Canada.
Poor propaganda can be done everywhere however you find out a person's level of intellect when instead of blindly following news and then spreading it, he actually goes and researches the true story.
Dr. Tahir ul Qadri even provided his immigration papers on Mubasher Lucman's Khara Sach where it states he has received his nationality on the basis of being a world renowned religious scholar and the professor of Law at the University of the Punjab. Take care next time before spreading falsehood, verily it is proof of an uneducated individual.

This system is fraudulent where all the tax defaulters, loan defaulters and fake degree holders are being allowed to contest including our very own Sheikh Waqas Akram who doesn't even have a FA. Moreover, millions of rupees funds were released from other projects in order to release these funds for pre-election campaigning. Do you really think you'll see a change in the assembly?
As far as PTI is concerned, even if they win 110 seats (exaggeration) they won't be able to form a government unless they join the status-quo parties so it's pointless voting in this system and PMLN we've seen them in power in Punjab as well as federal twice. No comment regarding PPP therefore nothing is going to change during these elections.

I am not against you Mr. Qadri, you are correct in a way but if you are really concerned about this country then also tell us a solution of this problem rather than telling everyone not to vote in the elections. Not voting and delaying the elections will create vacuum and give room to people who don't want Pakistan to progress.

Casting vote in unconstitutionaly held elections is a graet sin. It will lead nation to destruction. vote4none is the only way to reject corrupt electoral system
Dr Qadri is 100% right.No one can bring change under this corrupt electoral system even in 100 elections. ECP has terribly failed to do promised scrutiny. ECP have failed to take notice of media reports of mega corruption, cover-up of bank defaulters and loan write-offs ,fake degree holders, tax cheats, utility bills evaders, looters, robbers. No action has been taken against those whose names are in the lists held by the state institutions, parliaments, and media. The lists have not been made public to save the culprits from law. If corrupt individuals manage to contest elections and come to power, it will be an affront to State, Constitution and democracy. 50% of the candidates (ten thousand plus) don’t have National Tax number and many leading politicians have not paid their taxes. There is no detail of offshore accounts, property and source of income. 11 May 2013 is not so far now .

If Qadri saheb wasn't working on another agenda, he would've known that you can only fix a system from within and not by boycotting it. If you have a problem with who is contesting for elections, don't vote for that person, vote for someone else. Not voting is NOT the solution.
The sinner would be the people if they vote for fake degree holders and tax evaders. People should demand their expel and cancellation of their run for elections.
Tahirul Qadri should pinpoint the candidate which are loan defaulters, tax evaders, fake degree holders and object before the competent authority to stop them contest in the election. Allegations have to be proved. proposed peaceful protest on the day of election does not serve the purpose. Moreover how can it be generalized as a sin to cast vote without admissible evidence otherwise. Does Tahirul Qadri means to say that entire lot of contestants are allowed against the spirit of article 62 & 63 of the constitution which are subjective in nature...
