Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Jamshed Dasti has decided not to contest the upcoming elections with any political party, Express News reported.

Dasti on Friday announced that he was leaving the PPP and would contest the upcoming polls as an independent candidate.

The PPP MNA had been elected from the Muzaffargarh NA-178 constituency in the 2008 elections and later through by-elections.

Dasti had resigned from the parliament as a six member bench of the Supreme Court heard a court case about his religious education certificate being fake, and thus being ineligible to be elected.

If he is convicted by Supreme Court and has fake degrees, he won't be welcomed in PTI.
