Dasti on Friday announced that he was leaving the PPP and would contest the upcoming polls as an independent candidate.
The PPP MNA had been elected from the Muzaffargarh NA-178 constituency in the 2008 elections and later through by-elections.
Dasti had resigned from the parliament as a six member bench of the Supreme Court heard a court case about his religious education certificate being fake, and thus being ineligible to be elected.

May be people with fake degree are more helpful to people and they are the best judge of character. A good lesson for upper class politicians . Dasti ismpeoples politocianmand nonbody can deny them their choice
If he is convicted by Supreme Court and has fake degrees, he won't be welcomed in PTI.
Dasti is hope for the poor people and a symbol of struggle against feudals in Saraikistan. We salute hiss truggle.Degree is middle calss Punjabi issue, not concerned with us(Saraikis). Salute to his struggle.
Qamar, I am disappointed that you as a self proclaimed PTI member are supporting someone who faked his way into politics. Doing one thing illegal and then claiming that it was done for a greater good, does not make it right. This is what every corrupt or self serving politician claims. The law is the law. If IKs party is comprised of people with your logic, then there is truly no party that is good for Pakistan.
good for you and well, we know what it means for Pakistan either way.
@ adnan Why did you get furious at those criticizing Mr. Palejo(in another post) for not doing enough research, if you were to do the same act in case of Dasti? I know he has a fake degree but is this bad deed enough to forget his struggle against the oppressors. I dont have any waderas over but I salute those who stand in their way, be it Palejo or Dasti. :D
@Qamar:
Knowing PTI and IK's penchant to rake in all the assorted cast of characters under the sun, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Dasti is welcomed with open arms in PTI :D
No you wont!
Sir Jamshed Dasti, I am from NA-106 (Qamar Zaman Kaira's constitueny) and member of PTI since 2003. I feel you are the most misunderstood politician and people just criticize you for the sake of it. I would have voted you if you were in NA-106. Good luck in your fight against feudal mindset.
For all the high sounding demands for article 62 / 63 implementation in letter and spirit, people are going to re elect him even as independent. Just proves that common man still does not care about integrity / character etc as long as the candidate is integrated with local people and helps out in Thana / Katchery issues. We are truly doomed.
