According to the police, the suspects, Shoaib Mehsud, Khalid Rehman Mehsud and Aurangzaib Mehsud, were arrested after the police was tipped off about their activities.
SSP Fayyaz Khan told The Express Tribune a suicide jacket, two bombs, three hand grenades, a Kalashnikov, two TT pistols, a detonator, and some ball-bearings were seized from the hideout of the suspects.
Some of the culprits also managed to escape during the encounter with the police.
"The arrested men belong to Hakeemullah Mehsud's faction of TTP and are responsible for a number of cases of kidnapping and robberies in the city," said SSP Khan.
"Cases have been registered against them and they are being interrogated about their role in the Abbas Town tragedy," he added.

People this is a file photo. Therefore not a photo of the actual culprits who were arrested. You can see seven guys under the sheet, whereas news item says three were arrested. Faces are kept hidden as investigations are ongoing to capture those who were associated with them.
Why have they covered their faces? :@
Who's under those sheets? How do we know who is arrested? "Free Media". "Independent Judiciary".
Lol.
SHOW THEIR FACES..... do NOT let them hide behind these veils. Everyone should know who they are and what a murderer looks like. We must NOT let them protect their identity.
In the other news on child suicide bombers, they show the faces of the children and here the police hide the faces of the terrorists.
Look at how these creatures are now ashamed of espousing the holy cause and hiding their faces. If they are fighting for a holy cause or have been motivated by drone deaths, why should they hide their faces?
Good news. I wish they could have captured them all.
We have been hearing such news since many years now. Yet the government and officials cannot catch them from their roots. I think they are mocking all of us.
