KARACHI: As the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy enters its sixth round, competition is fierce with all teams set to fight it out to qualify for the Super-Eight phase.

Top four teams from the two groups – I and II – will qualify for the Super-Eight phase where they will form two more group as each will get to play three matches. The top sides of both groups would then play for the title.

Similarly, the remaining three sides from each group will play two matches in the two groups and top sides will play a final but that would not be for title.

Currently, Karachi Blues lead Group-I with 24 points from four matches followed by Islamabad (15), Lahore Ravi (nine), Quetta (nine), Sialkot (nice), Multan (six) and Peshawar (six). Only Peshawar and Quetta have played five games and each team in the group has a chance to qualify.

However, Group-II is in a more clear position with Rawalpindi leading with 24 points followed by Karachi Whites (21), Lahore Shalimar (21), Abbottabad (15), Hyderabad nice9) while Bahawalpur and Faisalabad have yet to open their account.
