ISLAMABAD: Behind every member of the National Assembly, there appears to be a successful woman.

According to asset declarations submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan, the wives of lawmakers collectively own property worth Rs1.504 billion.

Although a majority of MNAs did not disclose assets of their dependents, some of them, surprisingly, informed the Election Commission that their wives own property worth millions.

The MNAs also disclosed that their family members have due shares in their business as well. They, however, did not mention their liabilities leaving the space blank.
