They were addressing a press conference on the Lyari operation at the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday. Zeenat Abdullah Haroon Rasheed, who was part of the students movement during independence and had the honour of meeting Mohammad Ali Jinnah when she was 16 years old, was also present on the occasion. “This is not the Pakistan that the Quaid-e-Azam dreamt of. Lyari played an important role in creation of the country, but its residents are now being treated unjustly.” Akram Khatoon, former president of the First Women Bank, said that a country’s GDP heavily depends on the services performed by its home-based workers.
