ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is going full steam ahead with its ‘tsunami march’ in an attempt to force Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to step down after his conviction in a contempt case. The campaign is being kicked off with a walk in favour of the judiciary in Islamabad on Sunday (today).

Party workers will march from China Chowk to parliament, PTI leaders told The Express Tribune. To pave the way for the big show on Sunday, PTI workers held a solidarity walk on Saturday – Mashal tsunami – which ended at the official residence of the apex court’s chief justice. Around a thousand PTI workers led by PTI Women’s Wing President Fauzia Kasuri and party leader Sardar Azhar Tariq presented a bouquet to family members of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry at his official residency at Islamabad.

“We will pay tribute to the chief justice of Pakistan on taking bold steps for the supremacy of justice in Pakistan,” said PTI leader Imran Khan while talking to a private TV channel.
