ISLAMABAD: A number of schoolteachers and public employees gathered at D-Chowk to express solidarity with the army officers trapped under an avalanche in Siachen and prayed for their safe recovery. The call was given by the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), during which the participants held banners and placards displaying slogans such as “Live long Pakistan Army” and “We love Pakistan Army”. Addressing the participants, CADD Secretary Imtiaz Inayat Elahi recalled that a similar calamity in Chile endangered several lives and urged people to stand united and pray for the recovery of the trapped soldiers. Professors Association President Qasim Masood also called for prayers for the soldiers’ lives and lauded the Pakistan Army’s role in the security and safety of the entire nation.
