Combating Dengue: WHO providing assistance to Punjab

We are training health officers so that they learn to fight dengue, says WHO official.

LAHORE: World Health Organisation (WHO) Operation Officer of Dr Babar Alam has said that the WHO is providing technical assistance and cooperation to the Punjab government to combat dengue. He was addressing a two-day training workshop on dengue prevention and control, organised by the WHO and Institute of Public Health (IPH). Professor at the IPH Dr Rubina Sarmad said that with the collaboration of the WHO and IPH, a number of training sessions for teachers, district health officers and assistant entomologist had been organised and the process was still underway. “We are training them so that they learn to fight dengue and teach other people in their respective districts” she added.
